The Farm Chicks Show

The Farm Chicks Antique Show was in Spokane this past weekend and I’d been dying to go since I first stumbled upon it. I pawned my girls off to family and friends and took off! My mom and her good friend Denice joined me and my great friend Lexine. It was a weekend to remember! After a great lunch at The Tav in Ellensburg, and many hours in the car, we finally arrived in Spokane around 6:00 pm. We checked in, had some drinks and went looking for dinner. We had a terrific dinner at Hills. After dinner we had a crazy fun night that ended at Dempseys. It included my drag show…more on this adventure in a later post!
Saturday morning we were up and in line an hour before the doors opened.
We were warned that the crowds were crazy but I am not sure anything prepared me for what we were up against. It was insane! It was packed and for the first few hours it is kind of hard to even look at things. After about 1:00 pm it thinned out and we were able to really browse and enjoy everything there was to look at. And there was a TON to look at.
It was sensory overload! I loved every minute of it. Every booth had a unique set up and provided endless inspiration.
It took us 6 hours to make our way through the whole show. We only stopped briefly for lunch otherwise we were pounding the pavement finding treasures.
I didn’t end up buying a whole lot but I left with lots of great ideas. I saw this and thought I could try to make something similar with mice traps that might look cute and it will definitely cost less than $50.00!
This has me yearning for a giant bird house in my yard. I love them and this one was so beautiful. I think I could find the pieces to make one. This one sold for $265.00. I love birds but their houses cannot cost more than my shoes.
I thought this was a great idea for the garden. An old window with some chicken wire for sweet peas! Gorgeous! I must do this at some point!
The show really got me thinking about the direction I want to take with our house. I think there is some painting to do for sure! This all has to be discussed with Husband of course. He and I have very different taste when it comes to decor and design. It is going to take some serious negotiating. I’ll keep you updated on my progress!
Overall, The Farm Chicks Show is amazing! I am going to drag everyone I can with me next year. I will also be attending with a better idea about what I want. I LOVE Farm Chicks!!
I’ve been dying to hear how it went! Looks amazing. Can’t wait to see all the ideas you took away come to life!
hahahaha, I love that you took a picture of the “mousetrap” picture holder. I was shocked that they wanted 50$!
